Greg Smith PhD


Dr Margo de Kooker received her Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Physiology and her Medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, and went on to join the St Francis Health Centre in 1992 (a holistic nature cure centre in Port Alfred) where she studied various holistic and complementary approaches to health.

She has been in Private Practice since 1998 and has received professional training in the clinical application of mindfulness-based stress reduction through the Centre for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in the USA.

She works with a wide range of mindfulness-based approaches in the workplace and in medicine. In partnership with Integral Montessori, Margo runs programs for parents and educators on health related topics, as well as the integration of mindfulness into our relationships with children.

She specialises in holistic lifestyle management and stress reduction and consults widely in the Private and Public sector and teaches throughout Southern Africa and abroad.

Integral approaches to health, performance and well-being are her other key focus areas both in her approach to organisational wellness, and at a personal level. She has designed corporate stress management programmes and personal development strategies for a wide range of clients.

She also has a passion for the Chinese Marital Arts, and has visited China several times for her own personal training. She is a national wushu judge and has competed nationally and internationally in both Taiji and KungFu. She heads the Port Elizabeth Branch of the South African Wudang Wushu Institute under Sifu Jurgens Lamprecht.






Greg Smith has been registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as a Counselling Psychologist in private practice since 2005. He has been coaching corporate clients since 2003.
He completed his undergraduate in 1991 and prior to working as a psychologist and executive coach, Greg traveled extensively internationally, gaining valuable life experience and the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural contexts.

In 1996 he founded Grewith Agencies and represented major national and international brands in the sport and leisure wear market (Oakley, Quiksilver, Roxy and Soviet) as an independent sales agent in the Eastern Cape and parts of the Western Cape.

In 2004 Greg returned to full time study to complete his Masters in Psychology. In 2005 whilst completing his psychology internship (6months in student counselling, 6 months at Life Hunters Craig), Greg founded his own coaching and consulting company Fortogen cc. In his role as an independent peak performance consultant he has coached numerous senior executives internationally.

In his spare time Greg enjoys a healthy lifestyle, having recently completed two Iron Man 70.3 in East London and the full Iron Man South Africa in Port Elizabeth. He has completed numerous half-marathons and enjoys surfing, road-running, trail-running, mountain-biking, road-cycling, open-water swimming, triathlons and playing the odd round of golf.
